2025

• Dr. Divya Sardana has been awarded the “Scientific High-Level Visiting Fellowship (SSHN) 2025” for a short research visit to Espace-Dev Laboratory, Institute for Research for Development (IRD), Montpellier, France funded by the French Institute of India (IFI)

• Dr. Divya Sardana received ANRF-ITS (formerly SERB) travel grant to attend EGU General Assembly 2025 at Vienna, Austria from 27 April-2 May, 2025.

• Mr. Sachidanand Sharma has been recommended for the DST INSPIRE Fellowship following the Level 2 evaluation.

• Dr, Abinesh G has received the Digital Green Talent Award 2025 from the  German Federal Ministry of Education and Research at Digital Green Tech Award Ceremony

• Deepak P awarded a travel grant to attend the 12 days workshop on "Advanced Machine Learning for Earth System Modeling" at ICTS-TIFR, Bengaluru from 07th to 18th July 2025.

2024

• Dr. Divya Sardana received the Co-PREPARE Academic Grant for a research visit to Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK), Potsdam, Germany from November 15th to December 2, 2024. 

• Ms. Pragya Badika received the Digital Green Talent Award 2024 from the  German Federal Ministry of Education and Research at Digital Green Tech Award Ceremony in Berlin on 13 Nov 2024.

• Ms. Pragya Badika received the Future Environmental Leader Scholarship from the Global Water and Climate Adaptation Centre funded by ABCD center to continue her research at the Technical University Dresden (April 2024 - Nov 2024).

• Ms. Sujata Kulkarni received a travel grant to attend  EGU  2024 in Vienna, Austria, from April 14-19, 2024.

• Ms. Spandita Mitra (PhD Scholar)received a travel grant to attend the workshop on “Data Assimilation in Weather and Climate Models” from 6-17th May 2024. 

• Ms. Sujata Kulkarni (PhD candidate) has been awarded the prestigious DAAD fellowship. She will be visiting the University of Leipzig, Germany, from October 2024 to September 2025 for her PhD work with Professor Marlene Kretschmer.

• Mr. Ravi Kumar Guntu received the Excellence in  Doctoral Thesis award during the Annual Convocation 2024 ceremony.

2023

• Mr. Akash Singh Raghuvanshi has been awarded the prestigious Prime Minister’s Research Fellowship (PMRF).

• Mr. Akash Singh Raghuvanshi is shortlisted for the Allianz Climate Risk Award 2023. 

• Mr. Pankaj Ramji Dhote, PhD Scholar, received the Space4Sust mobility fund to work as a visiting researcher at  G-EAU, INRAE, Montpellier, France, from August 07 to Nov 03, 2023. 

• Mr. Pankaj Ramji Dhote, PhD Scholar selected as Secretary, International Commission of Remote Sensing (ICRS), IAHS for the term 2023-2017 after  2023 elections held during the IAHS Administrative Plenary on 12 July 2023 at IUGG 2023, Berlin, Germany. 

• Mr. Pankaj Ramji Dhote is elected as secretary for the Remote Sensing International Commission (ICRS)

• Mr. Akash Singh Raghuvanshi is selected for the Deloitte work-studentship program.

• Mr. Akash Singh Raghuvanshi visited Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade de Lisboa (FCUL), Lisbon, Portugal, for an invited talk and to discuss AMOTHEC (Indo-Portugal Project) work with Prof Ricardo Trigo and other project colleagues (19th – 29th March 2023).

• Mr. Akash Singh Raghuvanshi attended the International Atmospheric River Conference 2022 (IARC 2022) in Santiago, Chile held on 10-14 October 2022

• Mr. Abinesh G attended WARREDOC International Doctoral Summer School Extremes in Water Science in Palermo, Italy held on 10-14 July 2022. 

• Mr. Abinesh G has been awarded the prestigious Commonwealth Split-site scholarship (PhD) to continue his research at the University of Birmingham in collaboration with Prof David Hannah (Feb 2022 - Jan 2023).

• Mr. Ravi Kumar Guntu received the best paper award in the Roorkee water conclave (RWC) 2022, organized by IIT Roorkee and NIH Roorkee.

• Ms. Sujata Kulkarni (PhD candidate) has been awarded the prestigious Prime Minister’s Research Fellowship (PMRF) through a direct entry channel.

• Ms. Sujata Kulkarni (Ph.D. Scholar) has received the Co-PREPARE Academic Grant to attend the “Potsdam Summer School 2022” at the University of Potsdam, Germany, from August 22nd to August 31st, 2022.

• Mr Ashish Manoj J received a DAAD master exchange fellowship to visit TU Munich to write his master thesis.

• Mr. Ravi Kumar Guntu (PhD candidate) has been awarded the prestigious Prime Minister’s Research Fellowship (PMRF).

• Mr. Ravi Kumar Guntu (PhD candidate) has been awarded the prestigious DAAD fellowship. He will be visiting GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences, Potsdam, Germany, from October 2021 to September 2022 for his PhD work with Professor Bruno Merz as the host.

• Ashish Manoj J (Master Ist year) received the Swiss Research Scholarship 2021. Ashish will be visiting Switzerland to work on the topic of compound extremes. 

• Mr. Ravi Kumar Guntu (PhD Candidate) was awarded the prestigious “INSPIRE Fellowship” from the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India to pursue doctoral studies.

• Ms. Karisma Yuman (Master Student, III semester) has been awarded DAAD-KOSPIE fellowship to work on her master thesis at TU Munich. 

• Ms. Prachi Singhal received a Co-PREPARE Master Student Exchange Scholarship to visit University of Potsdam to write her master thesis. 

2020

• Mr Ravi Kumar Guntu (PhD candidate) received the conference grant for participation in the 6th IAHR Europe Congress 2020 in Warsaw, Poland under the program “PROM - International Scholarship Exchange of Doctoral Students and Academic Staff”. The conference will be organized by International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research (IAHR), and financed by: The Institute of Geophysics of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Warsaw, Poland.

• Mr. Ravi Kumar Guntu delivered an expert lecture on “Data-Driven Modeling: Soft computing techniques in Water Resources Engineering Using MATLAB®” on July 01, 2021, during the Two-week Faculty Development Program on “Smart Cities Enabling Technologies: A Step towards New India (Phase-II)” (Online), June 21-July 3, 2021, organized by BVM Engineering College, Gujarat. 

• Abinesh Ganapathy (PhD Scholar)  attended WARREDOC International Doctoral Summer School EXTREMES IN WATER SCIENCE in Palermo, Italy, held on 10-14 July 2022.

• Mr. Ravi Kumar Guntu (PMRF awardee) is invited to deliver a seminar on “Spatiotemporal variability of rainfall-an entropy approach" on December 08, 2022, organized by the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand.

• Mr. Ravi Kumar Guntu (PMRF Awardee) delivered an expert lecture on “Data-Driven Approaches of Extreme Hydroclimatic Events” on September 07, 2023, during the 1-day Workshop Early Career Researchers Day on “Emerging Hydroclimatic Extremes and Approaches", organized by Department of Hydrology, IIT Roorkee.

• Mr. Akash Singh Raghuvanshi delivered an expert lecture on ' Handling Climate Data in R  ", during the One-week Program on “STAtistical tools for Modelling Big data in Hydroclimatology (STAMBH)”  from 17-24th April 2024, organized by Dept of Hydrology, IIT Roorkee.

• Ms. Pragya Badika participated and presented in ABCD-Centre Transfer Workshop Series 12 (a Collaborative Workshop between ABCD-Centre and CIPSEM) on Water Management Strategies Across the Globe and Lessons Learned held on June 6th, 2024, Hybrid Event in Dresden

• Ms. Geethika Moorthy participated in the National Level Training Programme on ‘Water-Related Disaster Risk Reduction, Concepts, Techniques, and Adaptation Strategies' from 27-31 August 2024 at NIH, Roorkee. The programme was organized jointly by the National Institute of Disaster Management and the National Institute of Hydrology, Roorkee.

• Ms. Pragya Badika participated and presented in 19th PhD Workshop on HYDrological MODeling (AG HydMod) held on Sept 16th-19th Sept, 2024, organized by ,Institute of Groundwater Management at Technical University Dresden

• Geethika Moorthy participated in the 'Bhuvan Overview' webinar training from 25th to 27th September 2024, organized by the National Remote Sensing Centre, Hyderabad.

• Geethika Moorthy attended the first Young Hydrological Society School for Latin America (online) from 14 -18 October 2024, led by the YHS chapters of Brazil and Chile.

• Mr. Deepak P, Research scholar, has participated in the fully funded, week-long training program "System for Unprecedented Rainfall-induced Landslide Early Warning Techniques (SURE-ALERT)" held at IISER Mohali from October 14th to 20th, 2024. The program was sponsored by the Disaster Management Support Programme (DMSP) of ISRO.

• Dr. Divya Sardana delivered a hands-on session titled “Hydro-Climatological Time Series Analysis Using Python” at the Natural Hazards Symposium for the Indian Himalayas (NSIH 2024) during 8-10th October, 2024 organized by the Department of Hydrology, IIT Roorkee.

• Mr. Deepak P coordinated the 5 day Indo-German Summer School on “The Second Law in Earth System Science (SLESS-2025)” at the Department of Hydrology, Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee in collaboration with the Max-Planck-Institute for Biogeochemistry, Jena Germany during 03rd - 07th March 2025. 

• Spandita Mitra participated and presented a poster in a Indo-German School on “The Second Law in Earth System Science” organized by Department of Hydrology, Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee in collaboration with the Max-Planck-Institute for Biogeochemistry, Jena Germany during 03rd - 07th March 2025. 

•  Mr. Sachidanand Sharma participated and presented a poster titled “Evaluating the Performance of Uni- and Multivariate Bias Correction Techniques: Challenges in Preserving Temporal and Dependence Structures” in an Indo-German School on “The Second Law in Earth System Science” organized by the Department of Hydrology, Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, in collaboration with the Max-Planck-Institute for Biogeochemistry, Jena, Germany, during 3rd–7th March 2025.

• Ms. Pragya Badika participated in Digital Green Talent Spring school 2025 on Digitalization and Sustainability from 11May-16May, 2025 at Frankfurt, Germany organized by German Federal Ministry of Education and Research.

• Sujata Kulkarni presented her work on “Arctic sea ice variability and its multiscale association with Indian summer monsoon rainfall at different time scales” during PMRF annual symposium held at IIT hyderabad during 16-17th March 2025

• Abinesh G delivered an expert lecture on “Climate-Informed Approaches for Flood Risk Assessment” and conducted a hands-on session on “Implementing a Bayesian model in R to perform Climate-Informed Flood Frequency Analysis” at NIT Jalandhar on 10.07.2025.
