ABOUT THE EVENT

The Natural Hazard workshop for the Indian Himalayas is organized by the Department of Hydrology, Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee in collaboration with the University of Potsdam, Germany on October 18, 2023. The workshop brings together  practitioners and researchers active in studying the hydrological and geomorphological aspects of the Himalayan region to an interactive platform along with enriching expert lectures and hands-on sessions. The theme of The workshop "Exploring the Himalayan Frontiers: Geomorphological and Hydrological aspects"  focuses to delve into the intricate and dynamic relationships between various natural phenomena, particularly landslides, river discharge, and the systematic analysis of rivers, in the challenging and unique terrain of the Indian Himalayas.
